WHAT IS SELF-HELP/SELF-CARE?

Self-care or self-help refers to the act of someone taking care of or helping themselves. In terms of the foot, the idea of self-help or self-care is frequently forgotten after a Chiropodist or Podiatrist is hired. Yet, the individual whose feet need assistance should always bear the responsibility of care. This ensures that any issues are identified as soon as possible and that negligence does not contribute to the worsening of those issues. Self-help/self-care can boost safety for both healthy and at-risk feet if the right guidance is followed.

FirstAidForFeet has always promoted responsible self-help and self-care by only offering products that are suitable for use at home, along with assistance from a qualified Lead Podiatrist.

FIRSTAIDFORFEET'S FOOT CARE ADVICE

Use a safe foot file on calluses, corns, or hard, dry skin before washing your feet; one of the best options is our Dual Foot File. Daily foot washing with warm, soapy water and thorough drying are recommended. Pay close attention to the areas in between your toes and use a cotton bud if necessary to ensure that these regions are totally dry. Use a moisturising lotion of good quality after that. On our website, you can buy long cotton wool buds and Flexitol moisturising foot balm.

Every day, change your socks, and attempt to wear a different pair of shoes. Our Dual Foot File or Diamond Deb File might help you to file your toenails if you are unable to clip them or have been advised against doing so.
